When a social game like Diablo Immortal doesn’t have enough players to maintain a healthy social environment, things like clans and in-game events can feel a bit pointless. Shortly after the release of Diablo Immortal, a Reddit user questioned whether Blizzard had overestimated the number of players they would accept on their many servers, asking “Is it just me, or has Blizzard overestimated their own game servers?” before also suggesting the possibility “imminent server merger”. Released in June, the mobile and PC MMORPG received lukewarm reviews and a few sideways glances at its microtransactions, with some players even then concerned about Blizzard’s potential overconfidence in player numbers. Diablo Immortal players are expressing concerns about low user counts across all regions as clans struggle to find enough users for both PvP and PvE modes, and players demand that Blizzard merge servers.
